Chris Fox and Chase Millsap talk with former Green Beret and Seattle Seahawk Nate Boyer about his experience volunteering as a young man in Darfur, his time as a Special Forces Soldier, and his football career. Nate also discusses his upcoming hike up Mount Kilimanjaro with a wounded warrior for charity, and finding a sense of purpose after the military.

Nate Boyer is a former Green Beret with several combat deployments. He played for the Seattle Seahawks after a football career at the University of Texas at Austin, where he received his Master’s Degree in Marketing. Nate is currently a motivational speaker and he’s preparing for #conqueringkili, a hike of Mount Kilimanjaro with a wounded warrior to raise money for clean drinking water in Tanzania.

Chris Fox is a Project Coordinator at USC’s Sol Price School of Public Policy, where he recently graduated with an MPA. Prior to that, he was a research fellow at the DHS Center for Risk and Economic Analysis of Terrorism Events (CREATE), where his focus was on homegrown violent extremism. He also holds a BA in Psychology and an AAS in Information Systems Management. Chris served for seven years as a TACP, is a veteran of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and continues to serve as a JTAC Instructor in the Texas Air National Guard.
